i know that most of vista's requirements are for the apperance but that's what people want now - bubbly gui's (tho i still think DOS owned [ only true computer guys knew what they where doing {no nerdy kids who thought they newcomputer}])

and i've put vista on a athlon 2500 with 512 and a MX440
when you turn off the visuals it's quite quick

and IMO if your running less then that you shouldn't drop 200+ on an O/S but a new computer

and i rember the days when INAG was for the bleeding edge..

used to be like 10 new articles a day... now it's like 1 a week

F1-

it's greesed lighting on a P4 3GHZ with 1gb ram and a ti4200 (the comp i use at work)

but when your do'in ray trace renders it'll tap out ANY computer

while with the ready boost i was able to play my game with out lag!!!!

(ray trace renders=800x600 animated water with shadows and light refraction)
*it's about the hardest you can work a computer
**i run direct 3d for my veiwports too

im impressed

my only complaint....

there arn't any solid state drives avalible

i know samsung made a proto. but it's not on the market yet
