I contacted a company a while back about custom solid state drives and they sent me a quote of like 12k dollars or something, kind crazy. Their primary market was for things like military applications for paratroopers and tanks n stuff where they experience hi-G impacts on the go or when something detonates close by; to prevent hard drive head crashes. They do make industrial/private sector products etc... I'd love to have a high sustained tranfer rate solid state drive, it would make things so much faster but the current products are too spendy.Originally Posted by starshooter10
