Adware_Hotbar ???

[Confused X 2]

I just updated my Trend Micro and did a full scan. I detected adware_hotbar and indicated in was my desktop weather program from the weather channel. The program cost about $30 a year and is supposed to be ad free. I have email the weather channel and they responded by telling me to disable my spyware detector. My question is, what is adware_hotbar? Is it a keylogger? What would you do? Thanks in advance.

No - it is mild Adware/Spyware.
I think a number of Anti-Spy companies Delisted it a few years ago....
I think it is associated with WhenU.

If I remember correctly, you ought to be able to Uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs.....


What would I do? I'll tell you what I am doing - I use Firefox as my primary browser and one of the extensions I have is the excellent ForcastFox.

-- And, no, I would not disable any anti-spy apps!
