    The daughter that received the 25 books (from her mother) gave 8 of her books to her own daughter.

    ANSWER (Congrats TL): There are only 3 people - a daughter, her mother, and her grandmother. The mother received 25 books from the grandmother and then gave 8 to her daughter.

    Well, my wife knits a lot. As does my daughter. I have also taken up the needles in the past, I'm not ashamed to admit. Although I do prefer working with chain saws and wrenches.
