just a question on analyzer

i hope this is in the right place. Anyway when i put hijack this, log in analyzer it keeps telling me that html tags critical error not sure what it means . Could some one look at my log. thanks keper

Thanks for asking, we don't recommend using the analyzer for anything other than helping identify what some of those files/services are..

In your next reply, please let us know some more information: discribe some symptoms/problems you are having and discribe your PC main components, ammount of installed ram, available hard drive space vs used space and what opperating system you are running..

If you are having trouble with your PC and think it needs a once over, you can copy and paste your HJT log into your next reply. Please do not attach the log file, copy and paste the log so it's easier for our volunteers to look at.

Please do not attempt to "fix" anything with HJT..

We can look over your hjt log, but it may not be of much help depending on your opperating system version and your hjt version..

You may need to go through the recommended steps and post the requested logs, according to these instructions

I don't recommend it for ANYTHING. That is so old, so outdated even the files and services are very often wrong. Don't use it. I should be removed. It is 5 years old, has not been updated. This one is way out of date.

This analyzer is for HJT version 1.99.1 which only is compatible for os's up to XP. So it is virtually of no use whatsoever since other operating systems have now expired. You can't even get a realtime protection anti-virus program that works on older systems anymore.

The newest version of HiJackThis is version 2.0.4 and can be used with all of the operating systems listed below:

• Microsoft™ Windows™ XP
• Microsoft™ Windows™ 2000
• Microsoft™ Windows™ Me
• Microsoft™ Windows™ 98
• Microsoft™ Windows™ Vista
• Microsoft™ Windows™ 7

Version 1.99.1 of HiJackThis is no longer recommended at all and does not work properly with Vista or Windows 7.

Plus the outdated analyzer here flags as dangerous many processes which are included in Vista and Windows 7, and many now often used programs which are common today which were not in use in 2005. It actually flags the newesr HJT version 2.0.4 as BAD! So what use is this analyzer? There IS NONE. Don't use it!!!

If you do not have advanced knowledge about computers you should NOT fix entries using HijackThis without consulting an expert on using this program.

So run your HiJackThis 2.0.4 system scan and begin a NEW thread and we will be happy to assist anyone. HiJackThis is NOT a fixer program, it is to be considered a scanner program only.
