Another considerations is WHAT you do on the computer and how many things you are attempting to do at the same time. You also should check into adding to the RAM. What you have is barely enough needed to run XP, so naturally the computer will be slower than you may wish and no outside program is going to be able to boost the speed beyond it's capabilities. Adding RAM is generally a cheap way to improve a systems performance. And by cheap I do mean cheap, usually well under $100. Plus it can be installed by pretty much anybody in less than 5 minutes.
