Computer Very Very Slow... Please Help!

Hello,

My computer is very slow as of lately. However, sometimes after it has been booted up for some time and after dealing with it's slow pace it starts to run "faster". I have ran some scans but no threats arise. I have no idea what to do now. Please enlighten me with your thoughts...

1.60 GHz, 504 MB of RAM**
**EDIT** After looking around my computer specs I realized that the computer was only reading 504MB instead of the 1GB I had previously installed. I opened up my computer, took the two 1/2 GB chips out, replaced them and now my computer is reading the full 1GB of RAM. Computer is running faster, but could you please still take a look at my logs and let me know what I can do to increase my speed?

The MBA-M log you posted is a month old. Not sure if you posted the wrong log or not. Please check again in the program and get the latest log. Have you always run both Norton and Spyware Doctor?

Hello,

Yes I noticed that the MalwareBytes log is a month old. Its because I havent used this computer much since i did the scan. The MalwareBytes scan didnt have any infected files so I pretty much gave up on this computer. But now have courage to try and tackle it again.

I usually dont run them together. Spyware doctor was something new i tryed, must not have gotten rid of it.

Hi Nate, Go Irish!!!!
Uninstall that Spyware Doctor. It WILL slow the computer, especially since you have to run the Symantec stuff.
Be sure you UNINSTALL, just don't delete it.
Update that MBA-M and please do a Full Scan, not the quick scan. Quick scan is good for WEEKLY scans, being sure you always update before each and every scan. If the Quick Scan finds something then update again, and do the Full Scan immediately. But since you are having trouble with the computer being extremely slow you need to do the Full Scan this time.
You, like your brother, have a lot of unnecessary auto starts which can easily be turned off and that would speed the computer some. But do the scan, then a new HJT system scan and copy/past both logs back here. Then I can give you the list of programs running automatically at start up which aren't necessary and also a small program to help you turn these off. You should see a difference, hopefully.

Looks good. Download and install this program, it is free by the way,
Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel. Once installed you will find it in the Control Panel with a little computer icon labeled Startup.
Open the program, go through the various tabs and remove the checkmarks from the following:

IgfxTray
Persistence
Adobe ARM
OM2_Monitor - likely to be two different listings for this
TkBellExe
Microsoft Default Manager

After you have removed the check marks then close the program, reboot and come back and let me know if things have speeded up at all.
