vista driver ? prolink hurricane 8000

i have a prolink hurricane 8000 usb adsl modem. is there any possibility to use a different matching vista driver ?

I tried searching all over the internet and also tried emailing prolink.
this is what i got :

The H8000 is not compatible with Windows Vista as the chipset used is not supported.

You can consider to upgrade your H8000 to our H9000 or H9200 series which uses Ethernet connection and is compatible with Vista.

i guess they are unable to write drivers for it. please suggest me a solution

Any way of connecting it in another way (such as Ethernet CAT-5) cable instead of USB cable?
