but when your making record profits, you dont loose as many investors. Your stock dont fall as much and as a CEO or COO, you get a bigger bonus.

business doesn't matter, quality doesn't matter, employees doesn't matter. Keep the investors happy is all that matters.

Yup...that seems to be it...and if an investor is a company you do 1000% more than you would for a normal customer...

I think the tech boom and bust of the 90s is mostly to blame.

lots of companies made lots of money without ever having a solid asset.
