Wow...See, I don't pay that much attention to oil...but I do remember when we complained when it was just above $30/barrel.

high enough to keep the oil field from slipping into another lull and keep business up.

and look at all the money they are spending.
look at the money they spend keeping machinist, welders, engineers, and others employeed when oil was $20/bbl and the oil companies and service companies had almost NO income.

boom or bust, they keep as many people employeed as possible.

Yeah, and they still don't keep half of their crap up to specs...

some of their equipment is 40 years old. just rebuild and repair.
