Those directories might disapear after unchecking the indexing box in the "my computer" "hard disk properties" and disable indexing service in "control panel" administrative tools, services.. It's been a while since I've done that, so I don't remember exactly what to do, to get rid of the submenu's in indexing service.

I also have a TSST Corp CD/DVD, but I don't use lightscribe. I've read that CDburnerXP does support lightscribe if you have the lightscribe drivers, it will find them, and have support for lightscribe via the "print cover" button. I cannot find anything specific that would cause your hanging at shutdown, but the steps we are doing will help to improve your computers resonsiveness and reliability.

The part about going quickly to the shutdown screen is helped by not having to look up and play the shutdown audio clip, along with the other things that you have disabled.

I am going to research the applications that you have installed and have mentioned uninstalling, to see if there is any correlation to the shutdown issue, with any of the applications.
