forget password computer .... how ?

i have a friend just buy a new computer , he set a os password in his computer, but after few day he forget the password and he cant enter window now. how to do now? any idea? thks.
p/s : there are no important data inside harddisk.

Was your friend using the default Administrator account or was he using another user account? Booting in Safe Mode will make the otherwise invisible Administrator account accessible. If he knows the admin account that should help him reset his actual account password.

Otherwise, since he didn't have any critical data on it, a reformat might be the easiest way out.

I do not provide any 'underground' info/tools on bypassing/cracking system logins due to the fact that I can not verify the user's actual intend.

You might have to contact microsoft customer support, have your product information ID and CD Key ready for the OS to prove you own the machine, then they might assist you in resetting the account's
