I LOVE my Mac laptop. I'd never consider it for a desktop, but ALWAYS for a laptop.

Yeah...I looked at that...but I got a laptop because I wanted a PORTABLE computer, and this macbook gives me just that. 4 hour average minimum battery life, 13" widescreen, core 2 duo @ 2GHz, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD. Couldn't ask for more...besides, the macbook pro is a little too rich for my blood.

I think the Macbook Pro is a good choice, I say this simply because it can easily be made to dual boot windows giving him the best of both worlds in one unit. Granted it will cost a bit more, but sometimes it's worth the extra cash.

I do own an Apple computer, but it is a 22yr old Apple IIc, so I don't think anyone can accuse me of being an apple fanboy.

Yeah, though I didn't get a Pro, I can still dual boot or run parallels. I can run XP on top of Mac OS w/o any issues, and I can run Vista too, it's just a little slower when switching between the two...it doesn't help that vista is a HUGE resource hog.

No, he has to pedal the generator attached. It's not even new enough to house a gerbil and wheel.

Even if that was the case, we would have gone thru a few dozen MACGerbils to keep that ancient thing going!
    ..lol...
