I have trouble with Adobe flash player. Although their web site indicates I have loaded flash player sucessfully, no programs that use flash player recognize I have it installed. I have AMD Opteron @ 1.66 mg, windows xp, 1025 Meg.

Are you referring to using your browser to view the flash files or a 3rd party program?
If it is IE that you were referring to, then it is either some user (set by the administrator) or system restriction (some sort of a security utility or browser plug-in) that could be blocking the proper installation of it.
If the problem is browser based, please try another browser such as Mozilla Firefox to see if you experience the same problem.
