It seems this is standard practice among some laptop makers. It may take a while but all of them seem to eventualy have lcd issues of this type. You know it's caused by fatigue when you can open the lid a bit to remake contact, but eventualy it fails open and there you are buying a new lcd.
I found out that dell was supposed to be replacing these due to the manufacture defect but calling in attempts to get the display panel replaced resulted in an hour and a half run around transfers to different departments and finally told to call back when they are open because they kept me on the phone till they were closed..
