For some unkown reason, Windows Media Player and Media Center stopped playing DVDs and mpeg files for me a few days ago. I have since gotten things fixed little by little. First I got it to play DVD video, then to put the audio with it, then to play mpegs (but with too few colors), then to play mpegs again. It was also not allowing me to seek or fast-forward through any videos, which is now almost resolved. Everything now plays fine from the beginning, and I can seek in every format except mpeg. When I try to seek, the audio changes to the correct position in the file, but the video remains on the same frame that it was on when I moved the seek bar. However, I can seek to the very beginning, but that just starts the whole thing over. It's not that big a deal; most of my files I have encoded to DivX, and some are wmv files, but I have a few mpegs, and I like to preview the videos after I edit them before I encode (I edit in mpeg format). So basically, my question is:
How do I make Windows Media Player seek correctly (changing the video as well as the audio)?
