    Undeletable File - Any Ideas?

    Hi everyone -

    I have an .avi file that will not let me move it, rename it, or (and what I would like to do) delete it. It also doesn't open.....just kinda sits there.
    If anyone happens to know *how* to get rid of this .avi would you please post me some help.

    Thanks!

    Hi Mandi,

    There are all sorts of ways to get rid of problem files.
    Usually, I first try KillBox - The "Delete on Reboot" option usually does the trick. . . . .

    If that doesn't work, there are other options.

    this is caused by the way Explorer previews files in XP
    to correct this commonly unwanted behavior try the info at this link;

    I tried Killbox...and checked out that link - hasn't got rid of it so far. The title is really long with no option to rename, so I'm not even sure if I am typing it into cmd.exe correctly for deletion...but Killbox was a no-go.
    Thanks again!

    -- Can you copy and paste the full path of the file into this thread for us?

    -- Were you able to make the registry change as per the instructions in the link OEMGuy gave?
