    GAH! (random RANT)

im so SICK of people putting down vista!

i AM a fan of open sorce but vista as an O/S rocks!

(so don't say im a microsoft freak)

people always talk **** but guess what !

unless your computer has a BASE score of 4+ (with 2GB ram)

    YOU SHOULDN"T RUN VISTA!!!!

if you don't know what a base score is then you shouldn't even comment on vista, as that indicates you've NEVER USED IT!

now to post this on some other boards....

*preferable x64.... x86CPU"s don't have the EXT. that vista is optimized for....)

I don't care about vista as much as the next guy, I dragged out changing to XP as long as possible, only did it to play some games n get the most out of my photo editing software that required global mem. I'd rather have a macbook than build/upgrade the PC with a base score in the 4-5 range for new parts that will take advantage of VISTA's features.

yeah, I held onto win2k until XP had SP1. I love media center because of the xbox 360. You won't be catching me moving to vista until it has SP1 and I can tune it considerably more.

Has any ms os been worth migrating to before SP1???

And as far as migrating goes, im still running NT4 on a server. Why upgrade if you dont have to?

come to think about it some more, I think I'll pull out my win2k CD and install it on my other "swap" drive that I pulled from this laptop when I upgraded to 7200RPM. That drive has Vista on it right now but I miss the speed of win2k and since I really don't play games it'll be a better OS for me.

Yes, VISTA still has a long way to go. But as of right now, XP has been out 6? years so it's fine. With the reviews that I've read about vista comparing to what MS has put out, Vista could possibly be another ME.

Honestly, tell me exactly what vista improves upon so much that it is going to be the next big hit?

Vista does NOT have enough improvement to beat out what XP already offers. if you are going on about DX10, name me 10 games that require it...

MOST of the features of Vista can already be implemented in XP, maybe with 3rd party programs/software, but it can be done.

I've run my current XP install since last February while upgrading ALL of the components except for the CD-ROM. Still runs like a champ.

gizmo - you should read up on SUPER FLETCHING

even on my good computer (such as my main *see below*) XP seems sluggish compared to vista

it's just somthing aboput the voice reconition (i can command ANYTHING) or maybe it's it's sleek style.
or maybe the start serch box (click windows logo and the white box right there.... type ANYTHING and it's instant pop up IE: ac/dc and there it is!
or word and hti enter- WOW it's loading word!

for those familiar with computers it's the FASTEST most streamlined O/S i could ever imagine

    and for those computer dummies....

it's hard to **** it up!

(but it apeals to all with it's looks)
