Does anyone have any new suggestions on the common problem of "USB Device Not Recognized".
I have been surfing from forum to forum trying to find an answer to my problem.
My USB ports stopped recognizing my SD Card Reader and my Sansa Clip. Most of the time they will recognize my mouse.
I can plug the devices into other computers and they are recognized so I know it is not the units themselves. I have moved my mouse from the USB port on the back of the computer to the USB port that I usually use for the Reader and Clip (on the front of the computer) and the mouse still functions.
When I went to move the mouse back to the original USB port, I got the same error message. I quickly moved it back to the front port praying to God that I didn't lose my mouse and it still worked.
I am running a Dell Dimension 2400 Series, Windows XP SP2. I have already tried the "unplug the computer" while also removing the internal battery. No Go
I have tried deleting the USB entries in the device manager. No Go
I have tried changing settings in the Bios in the hopes that the USB ports would somehow get "reset", which I have read about.
Please Oh Please, will someone with a fresh idea lead me in the correct direction.
Thanks!
