network traffic control

hey guys i need to limit the bandwith the seperate comptuers are using (max/min type of limit's) but i don't want to limit traffic IN network just over the internet.

i figure i'll need to put a server box between my router and modem..

but i don't know how =-O

any idea's?

one thing i can think of it a linux box with IP tables but i've never touched em before...

yeah... but i want to set defined max/mins for each computer

so that whie one it try'in to max out the DL another will still get it's promised min.

but at the same time i don't want it to limit IN network traffic (we stream from other computers ALOT)
