Adobe has officially released Flash Player 9 for the Linux platform. Flash 9 is the first version of the popular browser-based media player that provides full cross-platform support with consistent playback on all supported platforms.
Version 9 dramatically improves the performance of Flash on the open-source operating system, decreasing memory consumption and increasing runtime script execution speed by over ten times. Flash 9 finally brings support for rich content Flash sites to Linux browsers.
