Realtek HD Audio Manager on Win7 - Simultaneous use of Front and Rear Green input?

Hey guys, I just finally installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. I have installed all motherboard drivers, video card drivers, etc.

I am now left with an issue: I can't have my Front Green (headphones) and my Rear Green (speakers) inputs working simultaneously. I'm forced to pick a default and consequently have to keep setting each as default for different situations (i.e. watching a movie with speakers or playing a video game with headphones)

This was never an issue when I was on XP's Realtek HD Audio Manager. I'm just wondering if there is a workaround where I can have both working at all times.

I also use a Logitech G19 keyboard. If anyone knows if there is some sort of macro I can program into the G Keys, please let me know because that is also a viable solution to me if it's impossible to have both work at the same time.

    Thanks in advance!

Try the windows 7 64 bit HD-audio drivers from realtek.com
Should be the first one on the list of HD-audio drivers.

Uninstall your old drivers and audio manager before running the new driver installer.

Did you try the driver in the link that I suggested?

It's a packaged driver; the first one in the list of realtek HD audio drivers after the agreement, it says "vista/windows 7" and included both 32 and 64 bit versions.. They have a new update as of 12/30/09. Use the version that is compatible with your version of opperating system, this driver has support for your audio chipset, but the newer update "two days after I posted" could be different..

I've been looking into the drivers a bit more. I found mention in the manual on page 71 that ac97 is enabled via the realtek audio manager, by disabling the front panel audio jack detection and that the audio controller/codec/software only allows front header line out or rear header line out but not both when ac97 is enabled. Ensure that Front panel jack detection is enabled in the realtek audio manager. If that does not work, it may be a driver issue.

Also found this driver for windows 7 32 bit http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...2bit#anchor_os last update 12/29/2009

I read a few other install notes and found mention that the Microsoft UAA bus for high definition audio driver needs to be installed prior to installing the realtek audio drivers. The driver pack that I linked to mentioned that it includes the UAA bus driver as well. Not sure if that is any help.

The suggestions that I read for installing the new drivers mentioned to uninstall the old drivers first. To do that, the suggestion was to go uninstall the realtek drivers and remove the realtek HD audio device from sound/video/game controllers.. then go into system devices, find and disable the uaa bus device, then once disabled, right click and select uninstall, then scan for hardware changes, then cancel the driver installs that pop up for new hardware, uninstall the old audio manager from add/remove programs.. Then install the new uaa bus driver and new audio drivers.

Tried installing all said drivers but still no good. I'm using HD Audio, not ac97 and Front panel jack detection is enabled. Also tried reinstalling the uaa and the audio drivers but still no good. The audio manager still makes me choose a default audio device
