Advice on a new soundcard.

So here's the loaded question, which sound card should I get.
I have XP 64, i7 CPU, plenty of ram.
I would like a good to play music and do some gaming.
Right now I have a Creative Labs X-Fi. It is about 3 years old.
Is there a better sounding and performing card available or should I just stick with what I have.

Also I have the Logitech Z-5500 Digital Speaker System.
I plan on eventually hooking my computer up to a home theater system, high end high-fi. Anthem home theater, Paradigm speakers.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, been busy with yard work and trying to get some head shots in COD4 My best suggestion would to be to search google for either, HTPC or CARPC forums like mp3car. The guys on those forums are mostly audiophiles and would have far more experience dealing with PC sound cards.
