Yes, if you did the scan and this is what it showed. Now one thing to note, according to the info there you have TWO memory slots there and the info states;
Although the memory can be installed one module at a time, the best performance comes from using matched pairs of modules.
It looks like it would be better for you to have 2-512MB to come up to 1GB OR, for this price, I think I would probably go with 2 of those 1GB cards, that then would give you 2GB of RAM, which the scan says your computer could handle.
Do you feel you can install this yourself? It IS very easy to install on a desktop computer, I have done it many times, but I know some laptops are very difficult to open so I can't advise on that. If I were you, I would actually call Crucial and see what they would recommend, and if you don't feel comfortable trying to install it yourself, then of course call a local computer shop, find out what their RAM costs and how much to install it. If their RAM is more expensive ask if you could purchase it else where and have them install it...don't know if they would do that or not but it sure wouldn't hurt to ask them.
Dom, I really think if you get more RAM on that computer you will be amazed at the increase in speed.
Your computer shows it is clean so honestly now I think truly it is just a matter of adding more RAM, there is absolutely NO NEED to do anything else but that.
