Well, I've come to the conclusion that the only thing I can do is wait until I move out to get my own connection. I have Counter-Strike Source and I get about 90-130 ping on CSS on the "good nights" and anywhere from 700-1500 on bad nights.

Generally when either of the computers on the bottom floor (where my uncle lives) are downloading anything at all, the internet slows to a crawl and I can barely check my email, let alone log onto steam.

Is there anything I can do on the software side of this? Some settings I can change around to reduce my ping?
