    Slow computer...

I got on my mums laptop, and played a game then I realised it was faster on the laptop... I have quite a bit of files on my computer.... If I went and deleted some of the useless ones and followed the "read this before you ask for assistance" thread, would it possibly go faster?

    X_Jado_X,
We need full information about YOUR computer. Don't remove ANYTHING yet. Give us RAM, HD size, what all do you have on your computer? What is the OS?
Also give us the info on your mother's computer so that we can compare the two.

On either computer, right click on My Computer. Choose Properties. The first page there will show you the OS and amount of RAM installed. Double Click My computer. Right Click C drive and choose properties. That should show how big the hard drive is and how much space is left. This will give us a place to start.
Most of the time a brand new computer will be faster than and older computer.

This is why the computer is slow. There is barely any space remaining on the hard drive.
You will have to do inventory and remove quite a bit of unneeded items to get it back up to speed.

How about giving Judy a StartupList.
Run HijackThis and open the Misc Tools section.
-- Check the boxes to List minor sections & List empty sections
-- Click Generate StartupList & Yes

Submit that for her. You may also want to submit a HJT scan, while you are at it. Instructions are in the sticky post at the top of the Forum.

    Best Luck
