    IIS install blocked

    I want to install IIS on my work laptop. I know the process, but on my work laptop somehow they've blocked it. When I go to "Add/Remove Windows Components", "Internet Information Services (IIS)" is not an option to select.

    Does anybody know a hack around this? Can those components be blocked from install with a reg hack?

    Thanks in advance.

    Got it. I found this site, which led me to this missing line in my C:\WINDOWS\INF\SYSOC.INF file:

    iis=iis.dll,OcEntry,iis.inf,,7

    Once I had that (and the iis.dll in c:\windows\system32\setup folder) I was good to go.
