All is well then. I use this program once a week, updating of course first, it has updates daily, sometimes more than once a day. I just use the Quick Scan for weekly scanning, if it finds something then I update again and do the Full Scan.

AVG is removed and AVIRA installed. We'll see if this takes care of it.

Well, the crashes are still there...dumping AVG didn't fix it.

Also, how do you whitelist stuff that AVIRA has found as possibly bad, but it isn't?

Eeesh! have you done all the hardware checks? check for dust, loose data/power cable, degraded heatsink/thermal compound mount, dislodged or sagging heatsink etc...

Monitoring temps on this when the issues happen? any local power fluxuations/brown outs? notice any brightening or flickering of the house lights? This stuff usually isn't the problem, but could be.

It's not hardware...the ONLY thing that crashes is explorer.exe...It's a new build and I'm always monitoring temps (hence Core Temp.exe in my HJT).

My CPU never goes over 63C on full load, GPU doesn't go above 75C usually, and the case sits between 100-115F usually (37-46C). It's definitely not hardware related, or power. I've got this desktop and my server on the same UPS and the server NEVER has issues. I know it's software, but I don't know what.

I wish that bit defender online had something like that cause I had some trainers that weren't even isntalled, just sitting on the data drive IDLE and the virus scanner said BYE BYE automatically.. Thankfully I had them backed up but it sucks to have to go through my disc folder and look for the right disc that has game saves/documents backup, considering all the other unorganised and misslabled photo cd's from back when I only had like 30GB to spare..
