No need to buy a new one. If it is current. Don't see an expiration date there anywhere.

Is there anything else I need to do?
Is the computer still running slow? Does your anti-virus program now show as running?
The window's shield shows the anti-virus as not working and the computer is not as slow as it was.
I just wasn't sure if there was anything else I could do to make sure it's running as it should be.
From what I have found this is a well known Windows bug of the Security Center repository not resetting properly.
1. Temporarily disable the WMI service (Windows Management Instrumentation) in: Start ->Run -> type: services.msc and in there find and stop WMI
2. Next delete the C:\windows\system32\wbem\repository folder, wait for it to recreate (it can take a bit of time.) Sometimes 10 to 20 minutes.
3. Restart the WMI service & restart the computer
