    Looks pretty good, but should have had you update MBA-M first and do another full system scan with it and remove all found. Can you do that now and post the log? Sorry, seem to be getting one step ahead of myself all day!

    Running a scan now. I will post a MBA-M log and a new HJT log when it finishes.

    Thanks for all your help!

    Looks good. Two fixes with HJT need to be done;
    Run it again and put check marks next to these two entries;
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

    O23 - Service: ASF Agent (eu9ov7wo3oge9t1g) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\fodob.exe (file missing)
    Once you have placed the check marks then click the Fix Checked button.
    Exit HJT
    Reboot.
    Run a new HJT scan and post the log here.
    Then I will give you a couple of things you can do to hopefully keep this from happening again.

    I just installed and updated Spywareblaster. Spybot S&D is on there now with teatimer off. SUPERAntiSpyware is still on there and loads on startup, although it doesn't have active protection. Do I need to keep that one? I will also be sure and run updates and scans on her computer weekly from now on. I don't think McAfee had been updated since she got it. I seem to be the only one in the house who does these things. Although my wife is much more diligent about it since she got that bug that completely disabled her laptop. Now she runs Kaspersky on EVERYthing.

    What other suggestions do you have?

    Thanks, again, for all your help and patience.

    Well SpywareBlaster was my KEY one, you've all ready done that.
    Stop that SAS from running all the time in the background. It doesn't do anything since it is the free version, but keep the program for scanning.
    Same goes for MBA-M and SpyBot. Be sure to update all before scanning.
    Keep the temp files cleaned out. ATF-Cleaner is a good one for that. Runs in just a few seconds. Do that before doing any scanning.
    If the McAfee program hasn't been updated is it a still viable program? If not, why not uninstall it and go with Antivir? Free program, works great can be set to do automatic scans and updates.

    You should remove HiJackThis, you don't need it any more. it should be in Add/Remove. This program should only be used when suspicious "happenings" begin.

    If I didn't tell you before then you also should uninstall combofix. It basically is a "one time" fix. If a person is told to use it again some other time then a new copy would be needed.

    * Click START then RUN
    * Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK. The space between the combofix and the /u, it must be there.
    When shown the disclaimer, Select "2"

    I would also recommend downloading and using Firefox brower. It is a much more secure browser than IE. Know this is your daughter's computer but I definitely would suggest that for her. I use it almost exclusively today. It is faster than IE, in my opinion anyway. Once you get used to it, and that isn't difficult, most find they like it a lot. You can import all the favorites from IE directly into Firefox very easily too.

    You also need to set a new, clean Restore point.
    To do this Right Click My computer.
    Choose Properties
    When System Properties opens choose the System Restore Tab.
    Place a check mark in Shut down System Restore.
    You will probably get a message telling you it will be shut down, click ok or yes.
    Allow it to shut down.
    Wait a moment. Then go back in and take that check mark Out so that System Restore will turn back on.

    After that, you are good to go.

    Thanks, Judy! I also updated Java and removed a couple of the old updates. The school supplied the laptops and McAfee came with it so I am assuming that they are paying for it, so we'll stick with that for now.

    She does use Firefox usually. In fact our whole family does, although I haven't really warmed up to Firefox 3 yet. I tried it when it first came out and it was behaving badly, wouldn't shut down properly and then when I reopened it later none of my bookmarks would be there. I had to go in to task manager and kill the process every time I shut it down. So I went back to Firefox 2. You wouldn't know if that is still a problem with it, would you?

    Just for fun, I ran SAS again and all it came up with was a tracking cookie. Hopefully with Spywareblaster and Spybot immunization that won't be much of a problem any more.

    So, once again, thank you, thank you thank you!!!!
    You're the greatest!
