Me again.Sorry. This time it's my daughter's school laptop. She must have clicked on one of those pop-ups telling you you're infected and you need their program. So now Spyware Protect 2009 has taken over the computer. I cannot find it anywhere to uninstall, even in safe mode.
I was able to run Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool but it didn't come up with anything. I can't get MalwareBytes to load at all. HiJackThis either. I think it might have to do with the ContentProtect software that the school installed, but I'm not sure.
I was able to run ATFCleaner. System Restore was already turned off so there is nothing to go back to. I think the school must have turned that off before they sent it to us.
I really appreciate any help. I will be contacting the school tomorrow as well. We may end up having to send it back to them, but I'd rather not if I can correct the issue.
