yup..
back from hiatus.
They're on my phone, I get off the ship Tuesday and will transfer them to my Laptop when I get home and post them from there. The wifi portion of our ships satellite is down, so I won't be able to connect my laptop until tuesday morning which is when i get relieved from work. As you can imagine, after 2 weeks of 12hr days I don't really want to stick around any longer than I have to so everything is packed up and ready to go.
Just got to finish timesheets and make some changes to my handover notes and I'll be on the road first thing tomorrow. it's a 4hr. drive to my house and add another hour for me to go get my keg filled and then I'll get my ghetto wifi system pics up.
My ship is a passenger / vehicle ferry and we basically provide ferry service to all the small towns from Homer, AK all the way out to Dutch Harbor, AK.
I work 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. While I'm on the ship I work 12hr days. I also get 5 weeks of paid vacation a year so realistically I end up working just under 5 months (4 months and 3 weeks) a year. Or about 150 days X 12hrs / day = 1800 hrs / yr. (not counting overtime). Should also point out that it's also just under 5 months a year that I'm away from my family, so It's not all peaches and cream, but i do make them pay dearly for my license.
That's gotta suck to be away from family that long...but good that you can be home that long also.
