    Smile Congratulations!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THEKIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE

    1940's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!

First, we survived being born tomothers who smoked and/ordrank while they carried us.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheesedressing, tuna from a tin, anddidn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, our babycots were covered with bright coloredlead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicinebottles, doors or cabinets andwhen we rode our bikes, we had nohelmets, notto mention, the risks wetook hitchhiking .

As children, we would ride in carswith no seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a van - loose -was always great fun.

We drank water from the gardenhosepipe and NOT from abottle.

We shared one soft drink with fourfriends, from one bottle and NOONE actually died from this.

We ate cakes, white bread and realbutter and drank pop with sugarin it, but we weren't overweightbecause......

    WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDEPLAYING!!

We would leave home in themorning and play all day, as long as we wereback when the streetlights cameon.

No one was able to reach us all day.And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building ourgo-carts out of scraps and thenride down the hill, only to findout we forgot thebrakes. Afterrunning into the bushes a fewtimes, we learned to solve theproblem .

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's,X-boxes, no video games at all,no 99 channels on cable, no videotapemovies, no surround sound, no cellphones, no text messaging, nopersonal computers, no InternetorInternet chat rooms..........WE HAD FRIENDS andwe went outside and foundthem!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bonesand teeth and there were no lawsuitsfrom these accidents .

We played with worms and mud piesmade from dirt, and the worms did not live in usforever.

We rode bikes or walked to afriend's house and knocked on the door orrang the bell, or just yelled forthem!

This generation has produced some of thebest risk-takers, problem solvers andinventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosionof innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, successand responsibility, and we learned

    HOW TO
    DEAL WITH IT ALL!

And YOU are one of them!

Man...that sounds like my childhood, save for I was born in the late 80's....but that is what is wrong with our society...we are all greedy, and don't want our children to experience a REAL childhood....jeez...

I agree and appreciate your support Gizmo, however messing with F1 is not wise. I recall underestimating the power of the darkside not too long ago...
