    Talking New hotness!

Well, I finally got it all up and running!!

    AMD Athlon 64 3700+ @ 2200MHz
    ASUS A8R-MVP
    1GB OCZ PC3200
    Radeon X1900GT 256MB PCI-Ex16
    250GB WD SATA w/16MB cache

    Antec SP2.0 400W PS - OLD
    17" 8ms LCD - Hyvision - OLD

It's a slick little machine, definitely a nice upgrade!! Best part is everything is still stock so it's got a fair bit of potential still!

BUT now it looks like my LCD is going out which really kinda ticks me off....it looks like I got a lightning strike shape of extra brightness going down the right side of my screen from the top to the bottom...but oh well....

Now all I need is another 1GB stick of RAM and I'll be AOK.

sounds like a stress crack! they will continue to function for a while like this, just as long as there is a narrow path to trigger the pixel sites behind the panel glass maybe someone grabbed the screen and twisted on it trying to adjust the angle or something.

See, I thought about that...but I'm the only one in there around it...and I adjust it almost never. It's entirely possible though....We'll see how long it lasts....

Congrats on your new not-so-hot hottness!

If you ever sat naked in front of your monitor, that could have caused the poor thing to stress itself to a point of cracking!

    lol...

It actually is fine now...it might've been a heat issue before..not really sure...oh well, all the more reason to get even more new hotness.

Yeah, there are quite a few factors that could be effecting it, some are similar to the same stuff effecting the CRT monitor and some are different. It might a simple fix but I am no knowledge on repairing an LCD monitor.

Make sure you do not have any objects emitting electronic or electro-magnetic signals in close proximity of the monitor. Keep surprotectors, regulators, AC/DC transformers, battery chargers, speakers, your fiancee's electrical toys, etc. away from it if you can.

ROFL!! Thanks!! Believe me, the monitor is up on the desk and everything else is on the floor..probably just a fluke....and we aren't going to go into the toys discussion....Wouldn't want you to get aroused or jealous

Well, I feel like an idiot..and I figured this out shortly after my last post, but I finally decided to suck it up and explain...the "crack" that I saw in my monitor was a REFLECTION from one of my nintendo DS cases that was right under my monitor...
