SNOOP: How does metacafe.com Know I'm from Fresno ?

    I went here;
    www.metacafe.com/watch/218671/virginie_ledoyen/
and got bombarded with nothing but girls "from Fresno" ads by
    adultfriendfinder.com

How does metacafe.com know I'm from Fresno ?

    --

When one gains a political certainty akin to
a loyal sports fan, one has achieved the final
tranquility of servitude, a joyous slavery.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty,
the tranquility of servitude better than
    the animating contest of freedom,
go home from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or arms.
Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.
May your chains set lightly upon you,
and may posterity forget that ye were
    our countrymen."

    From your posting header...

    NNTP-Posting-Host: 69.106.179.167

You can then go to a Command Prompt and type...

    ping -a 69.106.179.167

Huh! Funny you should mention that.
I just got a pinger, NetWorx Ping it pinged
    it 3 times and said:
1 ms, 0 ms, and 0 ms. And TTL 64 for each.
    I guess that means fast?
    I don't know what TTL 64 means.

I've been having data loss, degraded connection,
and my ISP blames the phoneline, and phone blames ISP.

So I hooked up DSL, and funny thing is, my USP Usenet
service seems to work thru it. ??? (I haven't been to AT&T
yet to turn anything on but my password.)

So here's what the command prompt said:

    Pinging adsl-69-106-179-167.dsl.frs2ca.pacbell.net [69.106.179.167] with 32 bytes of
    data:

    Reply from 69.106.179.167: bytes=32 time=3ms TTL=255
    Reply from 69.106.179.167: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=255
    Reply from 69.106.179.167: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255
    Reply from 69.106.179.167: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=255

    Ping statistics for 69.106.179.167:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 3ms, Average = 1ms

    Usage: ping [-t] [-a] [-n count] [-l size] [-f] [-i TTL] [-v TOS]
    [-r count] [-s count] [[-j host-list] | [-k host-list]]
    [-w timeout] target_name

Options: -t Ping the specified host until stopped.
    To see statistics and continue - type Control-Break;
    To stop - type Control-C.
    -a Resolve addresses to hostnames.
-n count Number of echo requests to send.
    -l size Send buffer size.
-f Set Don't Fragment flag in packet.
    -i TTL Time To Live.
    -v TOS Type Of Service.
-r count Record route for count hops.
-s count Timestamp for count hops.
    -j host-list Loose source route along host-list.
    -k host-list Strict source route along host-list.
-w timeout Timeout in milliseconds to wait for each reply.

Can I do any trobleshooting my problem with that?
It bugs me that I have an unresolved problem.
