I agree, there is no $$ left to be made from building PCs unless you are building a high-end custom PC with possible internal and external case modifications, paint, etc.
If the specs of the PC you want to build equals to a system available for $800 or less from one of the vendors, it really is not worth the hassle imo.
Up untill 2000, one could make some if not good $$ from building a rig with average specs. In the last 5-6 years it became pointless. PC shops that are trying to make it by selling PCs and parts generally do not last long for that reason. Repairs and consultation is where the $$ is IF you have the growing client base.
