I don't need google chat for that. Gmail has a notifier program that just sits in the tray and will do that. But I have T-bird and that does just fine with keeping me notified on new email...

I haven't tried their notifier. Does it notify you of calendar events too?

I really don't know....it's small and I like it...but I don't use Google Calendar so I really wouldn't know....

I use all the functions of outlook at work, so I have gotten adicted to having a calendar to keep up.
