    On this page: http://support.dlink.com/products/re...oductId=DI-524
    it has the revision for your router, mine is not in there, its says H/W Ver.:B4 and that is not in the list...

    Ok, I got into the Australian website (which is why I think it doesn't show my type, it might not be in USA) but now I can't find any firmware links.

    I would really advise AGAINST downloading ANYTHING new until we are absolutely certain that your computer is clean. I am still going through your logs from your other post. I cannot access your AVG file there. I don't understand why it would be so large. I have never seen an AVG file too large to post. Save it as a text file and post it in that thread.

    Ok, I've forwarded the ports that portforward told me too. Except it says Static IP Adress: 192.169.0.____ I just put in: 192.168.0.1
    I'll test later too see if it works.

    Also, sometimes when the xbox is on live, and my mum starts up her laptop (which uses the same router) it disconnects live, and you can't connect back unless you remove the wireless router, and replug it, any idea why?

    Jado,

    I would change the static IP address to 192.168.0.5 or above. It depends on how many computers you have connecting to this router, wireless or wired. It's possible that the disconnection problem is because live can sometimes just be a non-working connection in the eyes of the router allowing the router to see that IP as avail, and give it to the laptop, and then Live and the computer are trying to use the Same IP and it won't work. I bet if that happens and you restart your XBOX it'll work again too.

    It certainly is good to see you are following the advice I gave you in post #22 of this thread.

    Now you might think I was kidding here, but I was not. Each time you add something new to this computer, whether it is software, hardware, a router, a game...whatever. It is going to be that much harder to clean up the trojans, viruses, malware and whatever else we find on there...WHY? because each time you add something new after you have done and submitted a scan then that can make that scan useless because there is something new to contend with. Keep this up, rather than concentrating on getting the computer clean first and you will find yourself not just having this problem but you could end up not being able to access anything on the computer. Plus any new software, hardware you have added since you first posted in your Slow Computer thread has a very good chance of being corrupted or compromised by all of the "baddies" found in your logs. So they may not work right even when the computer shows clean.

    I urge you to please go back there now, before you try anything else having to do with this thread and get the computer cleaned up first. THEN once you know the computer is clean I would uninstall anything you have added since that original post and reinstall it. That way you will know that all those files, programs, hardware, etc., are clean and free of corruption.

    I was only trying to hit 2 birds with one stone, but whatever, I'll try doing that first.

    Ok I was on the phone to xbox live support for about 2 and half hours, because I got security on my router -_- Anyway, heres a diagram:

    COMPUTER>>>MODEM---ROUTER~~~LAPTOP
    ________________________|
    ________________________|
    XBOX

    Key:
    --- = Ethernet cable
    >>> = USB cable
    ~~~ and | = wireless signal
    (Ignore the underscores)
    Computer - HP Pavillion
    Modem - DLINK DSL-302G
    ROUTER - DI-524
    LAPTOP - HP Pavillion
    XBOX - Xbox 360
    Now, I'm pretty sure that the connection and NAT have to go through the modem aswell, am I correct? And if I am, I think this is the reason I can't open it. If I am correct, is there a way to use the router seperate from the modem, and make it useable with the xbox and laptop?
    See, that is exactly what I thought you had setup...you need to change it....
    XBOX
    If you do it like that you shouldn't have any issues...but plugging the xbox into the PC for the internet connection I don't think will work correctly.
