    Is it this? http://pcpitstop.com/store/exterminate.asp

    Heh.

A Google search did not place that URL on the first page.
    Strike 1.

Many of the proffered links were to warez sites with crack codes.
    Strike 2.

Their site does not list the actual *price* anywhere that I can see.
    Strike 3.

    They sell through affiliates.
    Strike 4, in my opinion.

No, sorry, I have never used it. My operating system doesn't need
    'extermination' software.

I think they may be one of those companies that spam people with a popup
on websites claiming their PC is infected and need to buy their ****ware
to fix it. 9 times out of 10 there was nothing infecting their PC in the
first place and all they really need to do was enable the popupblocker,
and use adblock and noscript in Firefox.

It was just released a few days ago.

$29.99 for a year's subscription. It's near the bottom of the page. As
with all paid services offered by PC Pitstop, one is allowed to try
before buying--i.e., the programs scan and tell you what you need/what's
wrong, and then, if you want to use the software to fix them, you have
    to pay for it.

You will also be given sufficient information to investigate and fix
    those problems yourself.

Actually, I've never noticed that. PC Pitstop offers a lot of free
services, and they do a lot of advertising*, but I've never noticed
    that.

I don't need extermination software either, but I got the email offer
because I sometimes use the free services on the site. Much like other
sites of its kind, the quality of the information is uneven, but it's
certainly not a /bad/ site. I have no idea if this particular program
has any use or not, but it certainly won't do anyone any harm to use it.
