    looking to upgrade

not sure if this was to go in hardware or not but one of you super admins can help me out. With my upcoming paycheck i will have enough money to do some needed upgrades to my comp. i'll either be able to go from a 19" vga lcd to a 22" dvi lcd; or i can upgrade my 120 and 40 gig IDE hdds to 1 TB SATA and a new PSU. so either a monitor, or hdd and psu. i cant decide.

I agree with Mathster, if you have to pick between the 2, I'd say CPU/HD makes more sense but I'd have to know what type of a CPU you have.
Bottom line, which one of the two upgrades would you benefit most from?

My personal $0.02 worth would be: wait and save enough to be able to upgrade all that is needed, make sure the upgrades are worthy, significant upgrades otherwise, chances are, you may not get your $$'s worth!

HDD and PSU. Screw the monitor. You already have 19" You need the HDD space.

at the moment i'm rockin an athlon 64 3200, but i'm not doing the processor quite yet. i need to get rid of this generic 8 year old power supply i have. i know i could benefit most from new hdd and psu, it would definately make things run better. my only concern is that the hdd will continue to get cheaper, but i dont know how long this awesome deal on the monitor will last. i plan on doing a full system upgrade in february when my studen loans come in, i just need a little something to hold me over.
