    Dustin..

You don't find it a little odd that pcbutts chimed in when I ask if
someone could figure out if he was the original OP? Don't pcbutts have a
    jones for you?

And isn't the OP acting like pcbutts? For example, pcbutts is a MVP but
    he/she/it can't really prove that?

The original OP won't be able to provide you with a logfile showing the
issues it seems to have with the OP's system because the original OP
didn't have a problem with malwarebyets.

It's not Butts. It's not his newsreader, his newsserver or, most
    important of all, his style.

There are more than enough trolls in these groups to cover all the
angles. Butts responded because you mentioned his name, nothing more.
There are plenty of legitimate complaints about Butts, so it makes no
sense to feed him by focusing on a false one. It just makes his day.

    YHBT.

    Don't feed the idiots.

He has already demonstrated that he has absolutely no interest in
anything but making unfounded accusations. The record is clear, and
there is no reason to give him more attention than he deserves.

You are assuming the OP doesn't already have a key (or key generator) that
he downloaded from a warez site,...about the same time all the files got
    infected. <g>

As silly as it sounds, that would make a lot of sense, and why they could
quickly restore everything (from a previous disk image), with no apparent
    damage.

Maybe it's the boyfriend of Sharon Franks.

    Re: My Experience With MalwareBytes

    But the question remains.
Did you download a legitimate copy, that helped you.
Or did you find a hacked/unlocked copy on a warez blog somewhere, that was
itself laced with viri, trojans and other malware.

It baffles me why people would go to rogue sites to download copies of
programs that are FREE,....but it does happen.
I'm not saying the OP did it, but they never claimed they didn't.

malwarebytes is installed on my system, and it never did anything to my
files that wasn't already done before it was installed.

Oh...I remember Sharon Franks. In one of her earliest appearances (just
possibly her first appearance) in microsoft.public.windowsxp.general,
she posted a link to the "vanity" page Chrissie made for me.

But the guy with the ***** against Malwarebytes still ain't Butts.

I don't think? I remember any Sharon Franks...

Either way, Anytime a problem is reported, I still have to investigate it.
Even if it's a waste of time.. Thanks for everyones understanding in the
