I tend to agree with the other posters who say the malware messed things up,
and malwarebytes just told you how bad things were.
This may be a case of "shooting the messenger".

No anti-malware/virus application will ever be perfect, and restore a
totally messed up system with one keystroke.
But there would be a lot more complaints here, if it was trashing clean
    systems.

Why won't you post a log?

You've made a claim, but you haven't offered any evidence in support of
your claim. On that basis, your claim fails.

I've not seen false positives from MBAM, and I've not seen it harm any
computer system I've run it on. Not saying that I'm the definitive user
here, but we hit a LOT of computers in relation to most people you read
    in this group.

EE is crap ware, only needed by the paranoid people that are doing
things that they should not be doing - their activities are tracked very
easily other ways, so it's snake oil.

As for your Personal Firewall, LOL, if you're not behind a NAT router
there is every real chance that your machine is not secured properly and
    that you are compromised.

As I've said before, no single AV product finds all malware, you can run
any 4 of them and they will all report different things, each one
    missing something the other caught.....

You have posted nothing to make us believe your story.

    My thoughts exactly Rhonda.

Will you please install mbam, update and scan, Do nothing of course and
post the logfile? Really. I can't do much to help you or determine the
cause of the issues without it.

We don't lie about anything in the program sir. Malwarebytes is fast
becoming the defacto standard first run utility in the fight against
malware in many of the forum help groups. We have very few false positive
issues that could result in any harm. Again, if you will provide the
logfile, I can see that this issue is resolved, if one exists.

I tell you what, If you'd be willing to help me resolve the issue, I'll
see that you get a free registration key out of it. Deal?
