| I tried their trial anti maleware program. The dang thing tagged a
| whole bunch of window files as being infected with a trojan. When I
| allowed it to "disinfect" the dang files, it screwed up a lot of
| Window XP files. When I rebooted I kept getting error messages about
| incorrect Window image files. Luckily, I always backup with Acronis
| True Image before using new programs. This habit saved my comp from
| disaster.

| So much for Malwarebytes crap.

As Leythos noted, "Wrong thinking".

If a legitimate file is trojanized, that is malicious code is inserted, prepended or
apended, to the leitimate file then the only recourse is to remove the file and if the OS
requires the removed file there can be negative consequences. One recourse is the use the
System File Checker. However this will require the the OS to know where to find the
Windows OS instllation files (ex. c:\i386 ) and the files are slip-stremaned to the OS
service pack level.

Without "real" information (and not a whine) one can neither blame MBAM nor know for sure
what your problem was.
