i seek some help with a PC problem that has me stumped, in short my anti-virus registers and unrecommended by windows security suite and the virus definitions wont update here is the hijackthis logfile. this is a different computer from my actualy PC so yeah help is appreciated:

can you explain further?
Your anti-virus program is really out of date. Newest version of AVG is AVG 8. You should really uninstall 7 and download and install AVG 8 or another anti-virus program of your choosing.
After uninstalling the old program and downloading, installing and updating the new one then run a Full System scan with it and have it fix or remove everything found.

Your HJT program is also out of date. The current version is version 2.0.2.
Delete this old version and download the newest version from HERE

Also do the following;
download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBA-M) to your Desktop.

• DoubleClick mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install MBA-M.
• Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
• When MBA-M finishes, Notepad will open with the log. Please save it where you can find it easily. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt.

Reboot the computer.
Then run a NEW Full System scan with the new version of HJT. Save the log and post back here with that log and the MBA-M log.

basically what i ment is that AVG wont update at all. it finds them but errors out. and if you check on windows security applet it tell you i have no anti-virus assigned, and when u select one to assign it wont find it. this is a bit of an old post though as i ditch it for an anti-virus i got from my service provider (like they provided me a CD with my last bill). so yeah its found alot and if u go to me thread in spyware/threat subforum called "a recurring problem" with a new problem that was most likely causing the other one.

You say this is an old post...you posted it on 11/11/08 and I replied on 11/11/08. You just waited 8 days to respond.
Secondly you shouldn't post problems in spyware/threat it is not actually part of our forum. But, as I understand it, we really have nothing to do with it. It is just various posts from other forums provided here as a public service. Or something, honestly I don't understand it but if you have Spyware or Virus problems that you want help with from this forum then they must be posted right here in Spyware Central.
Now just looking at that post and putting together with this one, you are using a version of HiJackThis that is way out of date, a year or more. Current version is 2.0.2 and can be downloaded from HERE. So uninstall the old version completely.
If you would read the instructions HERE
and follow the steps as given, in the order given, you would see that posting a HJT log is the LAST step, not the first one. You need to follow ALL those steps first and then run a NEW HJT scan and save the log.
Then post back in this thread with all the requested logs from that Read Me sticky linked above.
