    When you say you have all ready done everything in the sticky and then say...Around two years ago..do you mean that was when you completed the steps in the sticky or you just did them in the past few days?
    If you have had these problems since you say you got rid of a hijacker then chances are it is not all gone.

    I've had the problem for roughly two years and I followed that sticky around 5days ago. I scan my computer every week with Ewido, Ad-Aware SE and Microsoft Antispyware. I also scan my computer monthly using Panda Activescan and Trend Macro.

    The HJT log shows that I don't have too many problems, it's just this annoying thing where Internet Explorer doesn't work. You are right, I doubt the Easysearch.biz has completely gone but I haven't had any obvious problems with my computer apart from IE not working when I log on with AOL Broadband.

    I've been researching on google, and the two lines are associated with the easysearch.biz hijacker.

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyServer = 127.0.0.1:8080
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyOverride = local

    The source for these entries can be from any number of different hijackers not just easysearch.biz hijacker. I am not saying yours are not from this previous infection I just want it clear to others reading this that there are other hijackers out there that cause the same entries.

    Try this;
    Enable Viewing of Hidden Files and Folders

    Disconnect from the internet. Close ALL Browsers, Messengers, etc.

    Run HiJackThis again. Place checkmarks next to these two entries;
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyServer = 127.0.0.1:8080
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyOverride = local
    When you have placed the checkmarks click the FIX button.
    Exit HJT.

    Next Open Internet Explorer.
    Reset your internet connection at IE>tools>internet options>connections tab, uncheck the use proxy box

    Next go to My Computer. Open "C" Drive.
    Go to this folder;
    C:\WINDOWS\runwin32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\wininet32.exe

    Look for and delete the FILE in RED. Not the wholefolder.

    Reboot the computer and see if this helped.
