    Question Outlook Image Saver

Outlook only saves images in .BMP. I had a freeware program I've used for the last six months that allowed me to simply click a camera icon in the toolbar over an email and it would automatically save the any pictures of that email in their original format--jpg, gif, or whatever. Unfortunately it was lost with a hard disk crash and I can't relocate it. Anybody recognize it?

Smile Solution for Embedded Outlook images

With no replies, I continued my web search and found the "program" I previously used. It is a macro for Outlook 2003 and 2007 found at http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/s...edpictures.htm. It's only "a little" tedious to set up if you haven't ever worked with macros in Outlook previously, but the instructions are play-by-play with the macro available to copy and paste. I don't like wordy buttons on my toolbars, so I checked "Text Only (In menus)" when I created the button in the final stage which surprisingly left the icon only!

Glad to see that you didn't give up on your search, Sorry that you didn't get the help you were asking for from the forum..

I haven't used outlook; so I wouldn't know where to start looking for the info, other than google

You'd think that all you need to do, in order to save a hosted "remote content" file, from an email, or other... Right click on the file/target, then select save target as, or save image, or even download image...

I'll keep the info for future reference

Thanks for posting the info and the link.
