Computer not running to optimal performance.

For the past couple days my computer has been running slow and also my video card is not recognized by some of my games. If someone can help me fix these problems I would greatly appreciate it.

You are running two anti-virus programs, Trend Micro and Symantec/Norton. This would most definitely slow the computer AND reduce protection. The absolute rule is ONE anti-virus program running on a computer. Either one of these programs would be fine...PICK ONE and UNINSTALL the other.

Totally forgot that I had two. I have only been interested in finishing a project for the past few days but thank you. Is there any reason to explain the games not picking up on the graphics card? I unistalled the driver, reinstalled it, and still no card found.

Have you checked on the video card's manufacturers page for an updated driver? You said this only happens on some games, what games are those? What games DO recognize the graphics card?

I have been to the manufacturer's site, NVIDIA, but the driver is up-to-date. PC games like both knights of the old republic do not recognize the card, Quake 4 has not, and also Doom 3. But just messing around, games like rollercoaster tycooon, and also black and white 1 & 2 do recognize the card though.

Now I am not a game player but if some games recognize the card and others do not I would have to think it is the game and not the card. Did these games recognize the card earlier?
Also noticed your java program is out of date. You need to update this. First of all go HERE
and download the Offline Install to your desktop. Once you have done that then go to Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove and Uninstall ALL past versions of Java showing in the list. A reboot may be necessary. Once you have uninstalled all old versions then double click that java install program on the desktop and install that newest version. Once it has installed then go back to that download page and on the right side you will see Verify now. Click that and verify that the install of the new version was successful. A note here; One thing that may be downloaded with this version of Java is a yahoo toolbar, it is included in the install UNLESS you REMOVE the checkmark which gives permission to do so. So if you DO NOT WANT the yahoo toolbar be sure to REMOVE that check mark during the java install.
