    Hi and welcome.
    Check.

Removing McAfee and Norton can be a problem.
Let us know if that helps.

What product are you talking about purchasing? The link that S Templar provided is freeware; doesn't cost anything. The discription of MCPR at majorgeeks doesn't state that it covers the 2008 siteadvisor application though.

Read through the posts on the Kaspersky forum on how to clean up the remnants of Mcafee, there's a couple other free tools listed in the posts; worth a shot on those, also get MCPR referenced as "latest version" Mcafee Consumer product removal tool. If you still have issues installing Kaspersky, follow the instructions posted by richbuff on installing Kaspersky, then how to "refresh the Security Center repository folder"

You may want to physically disconnect from the internet while uninstalling your AV products. either unplug the ethernet wire, or if you have wireless, temporarily dissable the wireless connection.

~Try the instructions, and the Direct link to Mcafee MCPR download

From the Kaspersky forum that I posted above..

~the link to the download site shows that the "latest version" covers the 2008 applications. Note the instructions at mcaffee: MCPR is to be used only after uninstalling the mcafee products from the "add remove programs" tool in the windows control panel, and the computer must be restarted after running MCPR for the changes to take effect.
