    Spyware Removal Tips

    Here is how you should proceed,

    1. Clean up your hard disk with Windows Disk Cleanup utilty


    2. If you got excessive pop-ups and/or you are not able to gain
    control over your pc, restart computer into safe mode (ie, by tabbing
    F8 at restart, and choose Safe Mode/Safe Mode with networking).


    3. Disabled suspecious Startup Items with System Configuration
    Utility
    (start->run---(msconfig))


    4. Turnoff System Restore (start->run (rstrui.exe))


    5. Run a full system scan with your antispyware program or do a
    manual
    spyware removal

    To successfully remove Spyware, or anything else, I would suggest using Revo
    Uninstaller. It's freeware, but digs deep and cleans out of the
    "left-behinds".

    No. That's a packed program unistaller. Malware very rarely uses a packer that will
    supply information to unistall it.

    This is NOT a "spyware" removal utility.

    Dave, You are 100%correct. However, I tried, and tried to remove Spybot
    Search and Destroy using their uninstaller. It wouldn't take it out. I
    tried several other avenues that didn't work. Then someone told me about
    Revo. I tried it, and it successfully removed SpybotS&D, and all traces of
    it. Plus some others. I was mistaken, and wrong reading what the first
    poster wrote. When he said Spyware, I automatically picked up SS&D. I was
    entirely mistaken. Being over 75 doesn't hold as an excuse however. I'll
    try not to jump the gun next time.
