Installed the latest Avast 4.8 Home and I can't stop it from loading
when I start Windows XP.

I tried turning off the services associated with Avast but Avast is
protecting those services.

I ran MSconfig and turned it off but it turns itself back on when I reboot.

What I need is a simple on-demand anti-virus scanner and it appears
Avast is no longer letting me set it up that way.

Help!
